The Characters

JUDITH
Our strong, smart, and resourceful heroine, who cares deeply for those around her, and seeks to protect the Temple from desecration at the hands of invading Assyrians. She has an intense, fierce beauty about her, to reflect her graceful mannerisms, but warrior spirit.

ACHIOR
The easy-going leader of the Ammonites who only wishes to do right by people, but loses faith in the divine when his people are taken by the Assyrians.

JOAKIM
High Priest of Jerusalem and leader of Israel, who orders the fortifications of all Israelite cities in opposition to Holofernes' ultimatum.

NEBUCHADNEZZAR
King of the Assyrians who orders a campaign to conquer all cities and raise temples to worship him as a god. He is prideful, so when he is insulted in any way, whether it be a nation refusing to ally with him, or interrupted at a war meeting, he seeks out the worst revenge.

MANASSEH
The handsome, loving husband of our heroine, who worked in the field, and died from dehydration, leaving Judith with prophetic words of advice.

ZUSA
The faithful handmaiden with a heart of gold, that looks up to Judith and wishes to help her in every way possible. Zusa feels a love for and friendship with Judith that she feels no one else ever gave her, which is why she is so devoted to her master.

HOLOFERNES
Assyrian general, second only to Nebuchadnezzar himself, who will do anything to attain more power. The longer he is on his campaign, slowly attaining more and more power, more of his true colors and true intentions are revealed.

BAGOAS
The diligent and faithful eunuch of Holofernes who is hard-pressed to show any emotion on his stern face. He has been in Holofernes' service as long as he can remember, and serves him faithfully.
